Summary

While Local Measure Engage is a SaaS offering, integration points into the client AWS account are required. The required resources for this are deployed via a CloudFormation stack, for which Local Measure makes available a CloudFormation template. The CloudFormation stack must be created in the same AWS account as where the Amazon Connect instance will reside.

Please note the following key items:

  • Some prerequisites must be in place before the CloudFormation stack can be created.
  • CloudFormation stack updates are typically performed by creating a new, parallel stack and not by updating the existing stack. Please refer to the relevant article for an explanation.
  • Ensure that the role, used for creation of the CloudFormation stack, has the required permissions assigned to it.
  • NB: Once the CloudFormation stack has been created, Local Measure will require the values on the 'Outputs' tab in order to complete the account configuration.
  • Additional configuration, in the AWS console, will be required, post stack deployment, to complete the setup for: Cognito - Single Sign On (SSO), Simple Email Services (SES) - optional, Pinpoint SMS - optional

Before you begin

Before creating the CloudFormation stack, ensure that the following prerequisites are in place:

Account details provided by Local Measure:

  • LMRegion - indicates which regional instance of Local Measure Engage will be used
  • LMExternalID - a unique identifier which identifies this account
  • LMWorkspace - the workspace alias which is appended to the Local Measure Engage url and which defines the account being used

Note: Your Local Measure Solutions Architect will create the account and  provide the above details for all new deployments.
